History of Mass Communication:
Mass communication refers to the process of communicating with large groups of people through different media channels. The history of mass communication traced back to the earliest forms of communication and has gone through significant transformations over the centuries. 1.Oral Communication:
The first forms of mass communication were oral and involved the use of spoken language to share news, stories and information. 3.Printing Press:
The printing press was, invented by Johannes Gutenberg in the mid of 15th century which revolutionized mass communication by enabling the mass production of printed materials such as books, newspapers and brochures. This enables the information to be disseminated to a wider audience and has contributed to the growth of literacy rates.
4.Telegraph:
The invention of the telegraph in the early of 19th century get introduced by Samuel F.B Morse which enabled the people to instantaneously communication over long distances, by transforming the way news was transmitted over great distances. This led to the emergence of news agencies, such as Reuters and the Associated Press, which provided a constant stream of news from around the world. In 19th century the telegraph was used to convert the messages into electrical impulses that traveled instantaneously by wire to distant receivers, where they were converted back to readable text.
5.Radio:
The young Italian Guglielmo Marconi invented the first radio in 1895. The first radio broadcast took place in 1906, and by the 1920s radio had become a popular form of mass communication among the people. It has enabled the dissemination of news, entertainment, and advertising to large audiences and have played an important role in shaping popular culture.
6.Television:
The first television was made by Philo Taylor Farnsworth in 1927. First it is invented as a major medium for entertainment and then after some time news and broadcasting also become major parts of television. Television emerged as a popular mass medium in the mid of 20th century which offers a more immersive and visual form of entertainment and news broadcasting. It quickly became the dominant medium of mass communication which starts shaping popular culture and political discourse.
7.Internet:Sir Tim Berners Lee was the first man who proposed the idea of web information in 1989. The emergence of the Internet at the end of the 20th century marked a significant transformation on the history of mass communication. As It has enabled instantaneous global communication that facilitates the people to share the information to an unprecedented scale, and transformed the way people consume and produce media.
The rise of social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram began to start in the early 21st century as it further starts to transform the mass communication. Which enables the people to share information, opinions and news on a large scale. It has led to the emergence of new forms of political discourse and activism .People use social media to connect with each other or share any kind of information among themselves. Social media have a huge influence over people and it drastically changes the mass communication.

The proliferation of mobile devices such as laptops, smartphones and tablets has further transformed mass communication making it more ubiquitous and accessible. Now people can now access news and information on just one click and participate in social media and other forms of mass communication from anywhere in the world.
10.Artificial Intelligence:
The development of artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies is starting transforming the mass communication once again, enabling new forms of personalized media and advertising, as well as more sophisticated methods of data analysis and audience targeting.
